NEES Centrifuge Research and Training Workshops are held annually at the NEES centrifuge facilities. The training locations alternate between the UC Davis facility and RPI’s.
The focus of the workshops are hands-on centrifuge experimental experiences. The workshops include:
- demonstrations of the NEES tele-participation during an actual centrifuge test
- hands-on sample preparation and model construction
- hands-on sensor calibration and instrumentations
- hands-on data processing
- data archiving overview
- NEES data repository overview
The workshops include presentations by centrifuge experts from both facilities as well as outside researchers. The overall goal of these workshops are to provide both basic background and real experience in centrifuge testing that will help participants in writing NEESR proposals effectively.
